Our History...

   Soldiers’ Memorial chapel is the successor to all the Chapels of Fort Benjamin Harrison for the past 100 years as well as the only Soldiers’ Memorial structure ever erected within Historic Fort Benjamin Harrison.

   When the Fort closed in 1996 the members went many directions, but a faithful and hearty nucleus persevered for two years with interim pastors. Rev. James McKinney, a proud veteran himself, came on the scene in 1999 and joined forces with the people and today we have a dynamic and joyous fellowship. We are multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-ethnic.

   As a Marine and because of 9-11, Afghanistan and Iraq, Rev. McKinney is committed to see that this Memorial Chapel become established as an everlasting place of comfort and solace

Our Unison Prayer of Intercession...

     Almighty God, we ask your blessing upon all whom we have named together and in our hearts. For those who are anxious or sorrowful, grant them your comfort and guidance. For those who face difficult decisions, grant them your wisdom and understanding. For those who suffer in body, mind or spirit, preserve them and bestow upon them the comfort of your presence. For those who rejoice, grant that they may turn to you in thanksgiving, remembering that all good things come from you, through Jesus Christ our Lord.
